PowerThink

PowerThink ----As a top manufacture of IR LED in China, PowerThink Optoelectronics Co. Ltd specializes in R&D and manufacturing of LED applications(LED Lighting,IR LED Camera) and LED component(DIP LED,SMD LED and Luxeon LED). With advanced encapsulation technology, and over ten patents, our products are well received in Asia; big clients include CSST, JSW Pacific Corp., Shanhai Lonyer Corp., Fortech Electronics Co. Ltd and more. Annual turnover reached $4 million in 2007.

To make great contributions to environmental protection and energy saving, in the year of 2007, we designed new lighting source named "flat-panel LED" with new encapsulation technology different from traditional one. This kind of LED can more effectively conduct thermal energy and overcomes thermal problem, and thus efficiently improves luminous efficacy from less than 35 lm/w to more than 75 lm/w, and largely extends the product lifetime to more than 50,000 hours.

We've got more than ten technology patents verified by both Chinese and American authorized organizations. Our main products include LED Component(Infrared LED applicable to long-distance monitor, CCTV systems and alarm systems, blue LED, green LED and other color LED), LED industry lighting (street lighting, underwater lighting), and LED commercial lighting (ceiling lighting, tube lighting and recessed lighting) and IR LED Camera. Equipped with advanced production machinery sourced from Korea, the UK, the US and Taiwan area, we output 7,500,000pcs monthly, with RoHS mark.

PHILIPS

Founded 1999
Philips Lumileds Lighting Company is the world's leading manufacturer of high-power LEDs and a pioneer in the use of solid-state lighting solutions for everyday purposes including automotive lighting, computer displays, LCD televisions, signage and signaling and general lighting. The company's patented LUXEON® Power Light Sources are the first to combine the brightness of conventional lighting with the small footprint, long life and other advantages of LEDs. The company also supplies core LED material and LED packaging, manufacturing billions of LEDs annually, and ranks as the producer of the world's brightest red, amber, blue, green and white LEDs.

Mission
To bring the small form factor, long life span and other benefits of solid-state illumination based on Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to general lighting applications such as light fixtures, traffic signals, automotive, signaling and LCD displays through power LED technology.

History
Lumileds began as the optoelectronics division in Hewlett-Packard (HP) almost 40 years ago. Hewlett-Packards' experts literally wrote the book on LEDs. In the late 1990's, recognizing the potential for solid-state lighting, HP and Philips, one of the world's leading lighting companies, began exploring how they could work together and deliver a new solid-state lighting solution to the market. In 1999 HP split its company into two, and the optoelectronics group was assigned to the new Agilent Technologies. In November of the same year, recognizing the enormous potential for LEDs, Agilent Technologies and Philips (NYSE:PHG) formed Lumileds and assigned it the responsibility of developing and marketing the world's brightest LEDs and enabling a new world of light. In 2005, Philips acquired Agilent Technologies’ interest in Lumileds. Today, the company continues to lead the industry in the development and release of increasingly brighter and technically advanced solid-state lighting technology.

Products
Philips Lumileds Lighting Company is a fully integrated manufacturer of LED dice, packaged LEDs, and high-brightness LEDs—LUXEON®—designed for integration into general lighting products. The company markets LED solutions designed specifically for automotive applications, LCD displays, general lighting, portable applications, signage, traffic signals, and other segments. Philips Lumileds makes the world's brightest white, red, amber, blue and green LED light sources.

LUXEON®
Philips Lumileds' LUXEON® technology enables LEDs to match the brightness of conventional light sources and for the first time, makes it possible to replace incandescent, halogen and fluorescent bulbs in many products with smaller, longer-lasting and more energy efficient LEDs.
LUXEON® gives lighting designers the ability to create a new breed of lighting fixtures that dedicate much less space to the light source, eliminate the need to replace bulbs, and offers precise beam control.

LUXEON® also lowers the cost of illuminating traffic signals; produces rich life-like color for LCD monitors and notebook computer screens; supplies instant illumination and therefore extra safety for vehicle brake lights; and provides significant benefits for many other applications.

Headquarters
Philips Lumileds is headquartered in San Jose, California, with operations in the Netherlands, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and sales offices throughout the world.

TOYODA GOSEI

Toyoda Gosel and LED

We have promoted research and development on LEDs (light emitting diodes) and LDs (laser diodes), using gallium nitride (GaN) as a base by utilizing our macromolecule technologies that have been accumulated in the area of automobiles. We also successfully developed blue LEDs, green LEDs, purple LEDs and white LEDs, named “TG White Hi”, with the world’s top level luminous intensity and started mass production. We can expect further development of Optoelectronics based on LED technology in order to apply to a broader range of industries such as illumination, picture images, healthcare, optical communication and traffic-related (traffic signals). We put our efforts into its research and development to meet various future demands.

Background of LED development

TG has accumulated unique galvanizing and thin-film technologies such as vacuum deposition and sputtering in order to meet demand for a decorative finish on interior and exterior products. In 1986 (61st year of Showa Era), TG launched LED development using gallium nitride (GaN) under the direction of Prof. Isamu Akasaki of the Faculty of Engineering, Nagoya University (Currently University Prof. of Nagoya University and Prof. of Meijo University) and Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. In the following year, TG was contracted by the Science and Technology Promotion Group to develop manufacturing technology for blue LEDs and achieved great success in its development.

NICHIA—Ever Researching for a Brighter World

Having "Ever Researching for a Brighter World" as our motto, Nichia has grown in the field of manufacturing and sales of fine chemicals, particularly inorganic luminescent materials (phosphors). In the process of the challenging pursuit of brighter luminescent and light-emitting materials, we succeeded in developing and commercializing the super high brightness Blue LED in 1993. It was accepted with great amazement in the related industries throughout the world. Since the first announcement of the Blue LED in 1993, Nitride-based LEDs in different emission colors ranging from Ultraviolet to Yellow have been contributing to the diversification of LED application fields. In addition to LEDs, a lot of resources are now being focused on the R/D of bluish purple laser diodes, which will definitely play a key role for the further expansion of the information media industry. We have a belief that Nitride-based semiconductors will become one of the most exciting areas of the semiconductor industry in the near future. We hope that Nichia continue to be a company which will be able to make a contribution to the world by evolving its original and unique technologies into the actual manufacturing.
